I was talking to a student who’s doing child clinic this semester, and she has one of the kids clients I had last Fall. Ending that clinic, this kid had improved so much that I recommended dismissal. We had met every goal and we were just doing review the last few sessions. But since there’s a 10 week break in between semesters a typical problem with all of the kids is that they will regress in their new skills. So this kid is back for one last time to make sure there wasn’t too much of a slide and to reinforce what we worked on.
Well, the clinician tells me the pretest scores look great, nothing delayed. So she basically can’t come up with any goals to work on as a client has to score below the norm to be able to target that area.
Thumbs up for me for my kid retaining what we worked on, but boring times for the current clinician.
