Tough Choice

My AAC professor offered my class the option of going to 1 of 2 conferences on different Saturdays in place of taking a final. I couldn’t make it to the one in March, and the 2nd one is tomorrow. Except… I have projects and other junk I need to get done. And the conference is from 8:30am-2:30pm. Meaning I’m up at 6am to get ready. On a Saturday. My Saturday. It’s just wrong on so many levels.

If I don’t go, I will be the only one in class who didn’t attend one of these things and the professor would have to create a take-home final just for little ol’ me. Do I rebel (a.k.a become a bum) and skip, be the one reject in class who will take a final? Or go and interact with strangers/sit and watch powerpoint presentation after powerpoint presentation for 6 hours, wondering if I can lithely take out a book and read without anyone seeing me before just ending up nodding off because the whole event is making me miss my weekend nap?

White whine, I know. But those multicultural projects aren’t going to magically research themselves and no one else here will pillage Costo to restock the kitchen.

Update: AAaannd I’m up at 6am. Poo.
